Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics is a comprehensive pediatric medical center, serving children from birth to age 18. The only exclusively-pediatric hospital between St. Louis and Denver, our patients come not only from Missouri and Kansas, but throughout the region.
Our main hospital, outpatient center and Level I pediatric trauma center are located in midtown Kansas City, MO. Children's Mercy South offers inpatient beds, outpatient specialty clinics, same day surgery and an urgent care center in suburban Overland Park, KS. Children’s Mercy Northland provides outpatient specialty clinics and an urgent care center for those in north Kansas City, MO. Children’s Mercy also provide primary care clinics in the underserved inner city locations, offer 20 outreach clinics in 12 communities throughout Missouri and Kansas, and have the only exclusively-pediatric home health program within a 150-mile radius.
Every year we admit more than 11,000 inpatients and have more than 220,000 outpatient visits to our specialty clinics, plus 84,000 visits to our Emergency Room and urgent care centers. In addition to medical and research excellence, Children's Mercy is nationally recognized for its child and family-centered facilities and psychosocial programs. Children’s Mercy is one of Child magazine’s 10 Best Children’s Hospitals in America, and has received Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center – the first hospital in Missouri or Kansas to receive magnet recognition, and only the third children’s hospital nationwide.
We are the pediatric teaching facility for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, and 15 schools of nursing and allied health professions. We offer a nationally-recognized pediatric medical research program, including the largest and fastest-growing clinical pharmacology research program in the nation.
Children’s Mercy has a proud history, with more than 100 years of never turning away a child in need of care, regardless of the family's inability to pay.
