Preparing Your Proposal

NACHRI and N.A.C.H. exclusively accept proposals initiated by NACHRI member hospitals. Lead presenters from a NACHRI member hospital may invite consultants, vendors or nonmembers to co-present.  Each proposal submitted must contain a blinded abstract.  The mentioning of presenters and affiliations should be noted on the submission form and not in the body of the abstract itself.

The submission process is completely online. Submitting a proposal will require completing the online submission form with information about the lead presenter and co-presenters and outline presenter requirements.  The second portion will ask presenters to write a brief description of the proposal and may contain reference to presenters and affiliations. This description will be used in the conference brochures and/or Web site to promote accepted presentations.  Presenters must include three objectives that detail what attendees will learn. The blinded abstract portion is outlined as follows:

I.   Title
II.  Introduction
III. Initiative/methodology
IV.  Outcomes or potential
V.   Key lessons learned
VI.  Future of the initiative/next steps

Each section limits the number of characters/words that can be used so review carefully before proceeding to the next field.

Selection Criteria

The 2009 Creating Connections Planning Committee uses the criteria outline below as determined by the NACHRI Council on Education to evaluate and select proposals for educational sessions or poster presentations:

  • Relevance/Interest (10 points): Is the proposal relevant to the theme and objectives of the conference? Is the topic appealing to the targeted audiences?
  • Innovation (10 points): Will the proposed session share innovative techniques that would engage attendees or contribute new knowledge that would enrich the learning experience for attendees and enhance the existing body of knowledge?
  • Results/Outcomes (10 points): Does the proposal demonstrate results or outcomes?

OR

  • Potential (10 points): If no outcomes are available yet does the initiative demonstrate a potential contribution to pediatric health care or children’s hospitals?
  • Session Delivery (5 points – educational session proposals only): Does the proposal reflect careful consideration of a presentation design that would engage meeting attendees?
