Call for Proposals

The only constant is change. We can fight it, or we can embrace it.  And by leading it, we have the power to shape our future.

Join us as we explore our capacity to change in three important areas:

  • The Continuum of Care
  • Quality and Patient Safety
  • Workforce

Presentation Categories

Suggested topics include:

  • Developing the next generation of leadership
  • Matching academic training with real-world needs
  • Identifying and modeling exemplary leadership practices
  • Addressing generational differences
  • The role of cultural competency – in leadership and in patient care
  • Building transparency for outcomes
  • Moving quality from knowledge to application
  • Approaches to quality measurement and reporting
  • Partnering for continuity of care
  • Expanding beyond traditional patient care

Tell us about the innovative ideas and practices you use to address the rapidly changing pediatric health care environment. Whether they worked or not, your experiences, when shared with your peers, are invaluable.

Conference Audiences

  • Chief Executive Officers
  • Chief Financial Officers
  • Chief Operating Officers
  • Chief Information Officers
  • Hospital Trustees
  • Medical Directors
  • Patient Care Executives
  • Pediatric Department Chairs
  • Senior Administrators
  • Senior Medical Leaders

Selection Criteria

The NACHRI Council on Education uses the following criteria to evaluate and select presentations:

  • Relevance/Interest (10 points): Does the proposal reflect relevance of the topic to the theme and objectives of the conference? Is the topic appealing to the targeted audiences?

  • Innovation (10 points): Will the proposed session share innovative techniques that would engage attendees or contribute new knowledge that would enrich the learning experience for attendees and enhance the existing body of knowledge?

  • Results/Outcomes (10 points): Does the proposal demonstrate results or outcomes?
    OR
Potential (10 points): If no outcomes are available yet, does the initiative demonstrate a potential contribution to pediatric health care or children’s hospitals?

  • Session Delivery (5 points – educational session proposals only): Does the proposal reflect careful consideration of a presentation design that would engage meeting attendees?

Poster Awards

Poster awards will be judged according to similar criteria.  Poster presenters will be provided with criteria for poster awards selection this summer.  The top posters are presented at the Chairman’s Award Luncheon on October 16, 2008.

Due to the high volume of submissions, incomplete proposals will not be reviewed.  Submitters will be notified of acceptance by May 31, 2008.
