This subgroup aims to develop guidelines for the creation of a
multi-disciplinary adolescent bariatric surgery program and, in
collaboration with other national groups, develop a position statement
for the surgical management of adolescent morbid obesity.

Long-term Patient Care & Family Engagement
Through member surveying and literature search, this
subgroup will compile a "state of the state" of children's
hospitals treatment programs' success and length of
patient/family engagement and followup in weight management programs.
The white paper will be accompanied by a set of recommendations for

Outreach to PCPs
This subgroup will develop an educational packet and guidelines
for use by primary care providers bringing standardization and
accounting for known barriers to practice.

Sustainability & ROI
This subgroup will develop a "survival guide" addressing how to make
a strong case for creating and sustaining an obesity program. The group
will also create a white paper focused on educationg hospital
administrators on their role in supporting the hospital-based response
to the childhood obesity epidemic.
